Two Entrepreneurs Use the Power of Words to Achieve Brand Recognition
Two Carolina entrepreneurs have used a unique word and a unique strategy to build a brand. The Cackalak Clothing Company launches an updated website with hopes of attracting consumers and major retailers.
THE CAROLINAS - Over four years ago, two Carolina entrepreneurs started a clothing company based on a unique brand and the power of words. The brand is Cackalak and it is a term that means Carolina. They have an updated website with hopes of expanding their market and attracting major retailers.
We started the Cackalak Clothing Company in April 2002. The idea started with a vision and a dozen shirts. The owners admit that the concept has grown far beyond their modest aspirations. The only formal advertising used has been an advertisement in a college newspaper.
“We decided on the spelling and gave away the first 12 shirts. We honestly did not envision the following that we have created, the reaction was surprising.”
The owners state that the Cackalak brand has a very wide appeal. Their unique marketing strategy does not target any specific demographic. Their vending locales have been equally diverse. The company has been a vendor at local malls, military bases, athletic events, and a Women’s Expo conference held annually in the Carolinas.
“Our products are the best form of advertisement that we have. Our marketing effort consisted of Cackalak, Curiosity, and Conversation. Everyone from grandparents to kids relate to the Cackalak brand.”
Despite the absence of a primary retail location, the products of the Cackalak Clothing Company have become easily recognized throughout the Carolinas. These two entrepreneurs are always willing to stop and talk to anyone who inquires about their clothing. The company offers hats and shirts for men, women, and children on their newly redesigned website
www.cackalak.com.
“The goal is to put a positive message into our clothing.
When we get to the point where we can design and manufacture our own styles, we can really give you our vision.”
